02 *~*Learn Several Languages*~*

Ever since I was little I have tried to learn as many languages as I could. When I was 6 or 7, I was always checking out books from the library on various languages. Because of my fascination with different countries and cultures, my early exposure to many languages makes it pretty easy for me to pick up on languages...as long as I have decent exposure to them and continue to use them. I have studied German, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi, but I'd like to learn them all more fluently in addition to just about any other language out there...I'm really not picky, I just love learning languages.

Here are all the languages I want to learn (I will bold them when I learn them more fluently):

~ Mandarin Chinese -- (studied it for 3 years. I have forgotten a lot of the characters. I could pick it up again very easily though. My problem is I don't understand when white people try to speak it, except for Mr Crook my Chinese teacher from High School, but that's because he pronounced everything correctly. I might minor in Chinese.)
~ Hindi-Urdu -- (some of my friends speak Hindi so they teach me a lot. I also watch a lot of Bollywood movies and listen to Hindi music. I have picked up on a lot, but I wish I knew more. Urdu is almost the same as Hindi, I'd like to learn to read it so I am able to read Urdu poetry.)
~ Arabic -- (Beautiful language! Some of my muslim friends speak Arabic. They even tried to teach me some, but I just sound like I'm having trouble clearing my throat. I really want to learn it.)
~ German -- (My family uses a lot of German phrases... I understand a lot of German, but I can't always respond.)
~ Persian -- (I want to learn it to read Persian poetry...it's very beautiful, but I can tell the english translations don't do it justice.)
~ ASL -- (my sister took ASL in college and taught me a lot...I know the alphabet and some basic conversational things.)
~ Spanish -- (I don't necessarily plan on being fluent, but I always run into situations where I'm always saying "Geez, I really need to take Spanish!".)
~ Russian -- (I took it for a year when I was 12. Some words are the same in German...I've forgotten a lot, but I can still read it even though I can't understand what I'm reading.)
~ French -- (I think it's pretty. I wish I knew how to at least read it and pronounce French words correctly)
~ Japanese -- (My neighbor teaches Japanese at UVU and always tells me to take her class sometime. If I can learn Chinese, I can definitely learn Japanese.)
~ AND MANY OTHERS
