Of course, this comes from the book, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. I loved the book as a child and always said that I wanted to learn how to do origami so I could make 1000 paper cranes. In Japan, it is said that if a person folds 1000 paper cranes a wish of theirs will be granted.
